According to my friend who is a history teacher, July 2nd is the day the founders declared independence. The 4th of July was the day they voted on the wording of the declaration, and it wasn't until August 2nd that they actually signed the document. If the founding fathers were alive today, they might just be really confused rather than celebratory. It is also doubtful that they grilled hot dogs.
A patriotically-striped sundress
Watermelon and blueberries...wouldn't be the 4th of July without 'em
