I went into it with a good amount of skepticism, and it was a little slow getting into it but in the end I liked it a lot. I've been disappointed in the past by authors I LOVED, so I don't think it was just because of a Rowling/HP-bias that I enjoyed it. Obviously it's darker than HP but the writing style is still distinctly hers, IMO - the way she writes her characters for example. Just my opinion though! It's probably not everyone's cup of tea.

I particularly like this quote from The Economist's review:
"Writing has made Ms Rowling rich, and her riches have made her the subject of great envy. This is a novel of insight and skill, deftly drawn and, at the end, cleverly pulled together. It plays to her strengths as a storyteller. That will not stop the envious from carping."

Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16269765366746798996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8552504907783881842.post-51246028453538023012012-10-09T06:36:33.410-07:002012-10-09T06:36:33.410-07:00JK Rowling's book is out already??? I think you just inspired me to do a post :) Side crow is a good place to start though - it helped me get used to shifting my weight over my arms and finding my center of balance in an asymmetrical posture.Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16269765366746798996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8552504907783881842.post-65822032833361144892012-10-08T15:01:56.262-07:002012-10-08T15:01:56.262-07:00It is on like donkey kong.
